Woot woot

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 23, 2009, 1:04 PM
I've updated twice in one week! :strip: Yay!

In case anyone stumbles across my DA page, I guess I should fill you guys in on this whole comic thing.

Back in high school a few friends and I decided to make a comic called "The Adventures of Aquawoman and Batgirl". Since I do not want to stumble on copyright issues the name is being redone as well as the idea of an actual Aquawoman and Batgirl. :D

I am still working on the story as we speak so here is a run down of the characters rather than the story.

The main characters, in general, are named Vivi, Cay, and Dee. Vivi is a vigilante who started her career when she was very young. Being athletic and protective all of her life, she discovered her passion of protecting people. When her mentor and hero, the governor of the city, was assassinated, she decided she needed to take matters into her own hands to save her dying city.

Along her journey of crime fighting, she runs into a human looking alien named Dee. He baffles her with his charisma, charm, and innocence. Also, he has super powers. He has bulletproof skin, the ability to fly, super strength, and he doesn’t breathe. Since they have very different opinions on what exactly defines justice and the fact Dee is so childlike, the two heroes start off rocky. Vivi often calls him ‘Superman’ as a joke. Dee doesn’t understand the reference.

With the two of them often bickering but still maintaining their friendship, the crime fighters eventually become partners.

While their story progresses and the beginning character development is...well…developing, the story introduces the main villain Rina.

Rina is a villain without a past. For her own reasons she wants to take over the corrupt city. She is helped by two psychiatric females named Eclipse and Sophie. The girls assist Rina because not only is she frightening but she convinces them that they are perfectly normal. Feeling the sense of respect they had always wanted, they agree to help her in exchange for loyalty and funds.

Rina has super strength. It also is evident she may have premonitions. I haven’t decided if I want to make that a power for her or not. Sophie is telekinetic. She enjoys creating wind, making humans puppets, and doing things no one thought a girl like her was capable of (such as knocking down water towers or throwing cars). Sophie is very young, 14, and she gets carried away with her emotions. In her opinion, loyalty is shown not through obedience but through convenience. For example, she may not always do what she is told but she will always protect her friends.

Eclipse is probably the most seen villain throughout the comic. She is the one Rina sends out to do the dirty work. Eclipse doesn’t mind killing, stealing, or wreaking havoc. She enjoys toying with Vivi, who she has known for quite a while. Keep in mind she is psychotic. Her killings involve a variety of methods and reasons. One way Vivi eventually catches on to her identity is because she finds corpses that were stabbed with candy canes.

Both Rina and Eclipse fight with a signature weapon. This how Rina won over Eclipse’s trust – because why else would they both posses certain weapons? Rina uses a scythe. Eclipse uses what she likes to call a ‘magical stick of wood’. She wears a wooden bracelet with a bow on it that can turn into a certain number of objects. The main transformations include but are not limited to a scythe, a stake, a javelin, a bracelet, and a staff.

Now the story blossoms when a new classmate, Cay, arrives at Vivi’s highly prestigious all female high school. She is a very pretty and intelligent young girl who is the talk of the school. Vivi being the class clown she is immediately loses the attention of the new student who is very strict in her studies. Here the reader finds out the gossip the typical teenagers have on Vivi and despite how normal Cay appears to be, she herself has some secrets.
